Concrete Repairs & Modification for Heavy Duty Lifting Equipment Pits for Levanta

For this concreting project, we were engaged by Levanta Solutions to modify eight existing pits. Guided by structural engineers, we upgraded the pits to accommodate their state-of-the-art heavy-duty lifting equipment, ensuring both precision and structural integrity throughout the work.

Steel Reinforcement and Concrete Mix

The project involved the installation of heavy-duty steel detailing and the use of a 40 MPa low-shrink concrete mix.

 Additional testing was conducted to ensure the mix met strict strength and durability requirements, providing a long-lasting and reliable foundation for the heavy-duty hoists.

Advanced Concrete Cutting

Advanced concrete cutting techniques were employed to work precisely within the tight confines of the hoist equipment. This ensured a perfect fit without compromising the structural integrity of the pits.

Dust Management and Equipment Protection

To protect the sensitive hoist machinery, a meticulous cleaning process was implemented, alongside a strict dust and slurry management protocol. 

This approach safeguarded both the equipment and the work environment throughout the project.

Outcome

The project resulted in structurally sound, durable pits that perfectly accommodated the heavy-duty lifting equipment, meeting all safety and quality standards while minimising downtime for the client.
